If you are a non-member (potential member) or a national member of the BSAOC it often pays to visit your local branch. There you will find people enthusiastic about your favourite brand of motorbike, BSA. They will be able to impart local knowledge, and as many types and style of BSA, will be owned by various branch members, there will be a great deal of knowledge there. Help may be available with that elusive bit of information you can't find anywhere else. Also, as most branches meet in a local pub there will be a good social atmosphere. You will be able to find out when they are going on runs and attending local events so you don't have to ride your BSA alone.

The
Cleveland & N. Yorks Branch was formed in 1980 with
a few BSA enthusiasts meeting together to talk and maintain their machines. They
decided to form a local branch within the National BSA Owner's Club framework.
Meeting places have been in various locations within the area; the branch now
meets at ‘The Blacksmiths Arms’. Currently membership stands at around 25 with
about 12-16 regular attendees each week at the weekly Wednesday 8
p.m. meetings. A branch diary of events is drawn up during the winter months -
on the first Wednesday of the month there is a short meeting to record and plan
the
monthly events, another meeting is usually a 'natter
night' and the other meetings set aside for technical talks, games, quizzes,
road safety, camping tips, touring planning and anything to do with enjoying
your BSA. In the summer months rides out to various venues within our area are
arranged on some Wednesday evenings together with weekend activities such as
autojumbles, National Club camping weekends, other
classic events in the neighbourhood, International Rallies and visiting places
for a day out or the weekend. Our annual branch camp has always been well
supported by other branches and national members and gives everyone the chance
to meet up and see our area of England. Members of the branch are a source of
unlimited BSA information; there are members who are skilful at machining,
metallurgy, welding, brazing, paint finishing, speedo
fettling, spoking wheels etc. all of whom will share
and help others in the branch. In fact, if they can't fix it between them, they
will put you in touch with a man who can!
A branch newsletter is produced monthly detailing forthcoming events, there are
'T' shirts, sweaters and bike stickers with a branch logo and a branch flag to
fly at events. The positions of chairman, treasurer and secretary are currently
held by held by Steve, Nigel & John respectively. The branch supports a local
charity raising funds throughout the year with various events and sponsorship.
An annual branch Christmas meal and awards night is held, with trophies awarded
to winners of various categories - but no long speeches are allowed! Are you

WILTSHIRE BRANCH Wiltshire Branch website

The Wiltshire Branch can be found in the South Cerney Angling Club, off Spine Road Sth Cerney on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 8 p.m. On the rare occasions that there is a fifth Tuesday in a month there is a meeting then as well. The Wiltshire Branch Of the BSAOC, which is actively involved with the National Club, owes its origins to the now defunct but legendary Cricklade Branch. The spirit of the early days still lives on with a number of the original members still regularly attending. In fact the Branch chairman's membership number is only in double figures. The Branch is constantly looking to expand its membership which currently stands at 35 and our youngest member who is 14 is a keen C15 riding, (off road) regular. And it is rumoured that the master of all things singular Rupert Ratio is known to put in an appearance if you can spot him.

KENT BRANCH
The branch was formed around 1975 when a few enthusiasts got together and as one
Mike Diprose was a student at Canterbury University the first meetings were held
there until eventually a move was made to the Duke of Kent public house on the A299
London Road and then subsequently to its present location at the Four Horseshoes.
Graveney, where the meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays in each month.
During 1997 it was thought an additional club night should be held at the Rochester
Queen, Cuxton on the 2nd Thursday in each month during the summer period, so as
to attract membership from those living on the west side of the county. This having
proved, to some extent successful, meetings are now being held throughout the year
at this venue. Until after refurbishment this venue proved unsuitable for our needs, so
we now meet at The Cock Inn Luddesdown. In the early days to encourage
attendance at club nights a shield was presented by the founder member of the
branch, Alan Crithoff in memory of his father. This shield is still awarded annually at
the AGM in April to the member who has given the greatest attendance at all club
events/runs etc. The branch logo is the prancing white horse of Kent surmounted by a
circle for which a die has been made enabling members to have their tee shirts and
jumpers etc printed with this emblem. The branch maintains strong links with the
National Club and is currently fortunate to have as one of its members Peter Twyman
our International Secretary and his good lady Theresa. The committee of the branch
are elected annually i.e.; Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Runs Officer and Regalia
Officer. Kent has 84 National members living within its boundary of which 58 are
members of the branch, for which the annual fee is currently £4. The youngest
member is 16 years of age and is restoring a Bantam and our oldest being several all
nearing their sell by dates (70 years). Branch Activities include: Club run to support
the finish of the Pioneer Run Brighton. Bucket and Spade run in aid of the Ramsgate
Motor Museum. Club run weekend to the Motoreorishme Veteranen Rally Oostende.

Norfolk Branch
The Norfolk branch of the BSAOC has been in existence for over
20 years, with several original members being still attending & organising
events. Our membership has grown steadily over the past few months
with the increasing interest in Classic Motorcycles in general. We meet on the
1st. & 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Kings Head PH at Blofield Nr.
Norwich, where new friends and old acquaintances are always made welcome.

The Birmingham Branch of the BSA owner’s club
was re-formed by Wayne Pinnegar in the winter of 1999. The original Birmingham
Branch, however, was started around 1956/57 by Tom Adams and Ron Quinney with
help from Aston Autos, a main BSA dealer in the city and BSA rep. Dennis Mills.

Meetings are held twice monthly at the Blue Bell Cider House, Warings Green Road, Hockley Heath, Solihull, West Midlands, B94 6BP near Cheswick Green and Earlswood. The venue is a biker friendly house run by a BSA owner currently restoring a 1953 Plunger A10 and was originally part of a farm converted to brew and sell cider and ale in the early 1800’s to navvies constructing the Stratford on Avon canal.

The aims and policies of the Birmingham Branch are simple and straightforward.
We like to
ride and talk about our BSA’s. There is also a wealth of knowledge and
experience within the section when it comes to maintaining and repairing the
bikes. Club runs are held on a regular basis, both short and long distances.
Invariably, Sunday meetings are preceded by a short breakfast run. Our annual

The Hampshire Branch of the BSA Owners club has thrived under the Secretariship of Jim Gurney for the last 12 years. Mike Hutchings has now taken over secretary duties. We meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month at The Bold Forrester, Soberton Heath (3 miles North of Wickham, near the A32, and 4 miles from the M27, J10). There are 60+ members at present and turnout is regularly 20 or more. People come from many miles around, with a real mix of ages, experience and gender (2 sorts). And the Gold Star Owners Club meet at the same place same time, so there are always plenty of nice bikes to view and smell as appropriate…..aaaaaah (Castrol) R (subject to weather naturally).
Probably the highlight of our calendar is the annual Camp, usually in early August, 4,5 and 6 August 2006. Camp features the renowned barbeque and runs out around the beautiful Hampshire countryside and perhaps the coast. Also in August we have a small contingent going to the 2006 International Rally in Massachusetts, USA. Anyone interested? The more the merrier, and numbers will help to keep the flight cost down.
